In this assignment I needed to create a pair of wearable shoes, standing at at least 12 inches high.  I used acrylic sheets and laser cut them into the frame of my shoe. I secured them together with bolts, and wrapped the frame in quilt batting. This is what makes up the inside of the shoe.
I was inspired by millipedes and their many leg's ability to move their long body. I wanted to play with a spine crawling creepy image, and designed the straps of the shoe to look like the legs of a millipede grabbing the wearer's foot. I used a four way stretch pleather to wrap the frame, segmented it with thread, and attached wire legs adorned with wooden beads.
